I’ve always seen photos of the Saga Hot Air Balloon Festival from before, but I’ve never seen it with my own eyes, which was why I’ve been looking forward to making this trip come true. And I finally made it!
The hot air balloon competition won’t start for another 2 hours, but a lot of people were already gathering for the show.
The participants preparing for the competition.
These balloons are gradually being filled up.
One of the balloons which have been filled up quietly soar up to the skies.
The sight of the multi-colored hot air balloons against the blue sky moved me!
The wind has been gradually picking up, which must be hard for the competitors.
The balloons are so large, it feels like you can reach them if you stretch out your hand. The people on the ground waved their hands at the balloons floating away as they cheered “Itterasshai!” (Take care!)
The hot air balloons calmly floating into the autumn sky from these wide Saga plains is one of the best views.
