Shiraito no Taki (Shiraito Falls) has been designated as a place of scenic beauty in Fukuoka Prefecture.
From a height of around 30 meters, the pure-white splashes of water as it descends from above is spectacular. The place is a popular destination during summer, crowded with adults and children alike. It is also said that asiatic salamanders inhabit the clear streams of this popular waterfalls. During autumn, many visitors also enjoy the autumn foliage from the boardwalk.
There are also meals and souvenirs sold nearby at Fureai no Sato. In particular, during summer, many families visit the area, as it is a recreation area overflowing with natural scenic beauty. You can also try Soumen Nagashi (eating soumen noodles plucked from a long flume of bamboo where ice-cold water flows) here.
