Located near the center of Fukuoka City, Ohori Park is known by many people as the city's oasis. Historically speaking, because it is located along the cove of Hakata Bay, the thickness of the ground area was used as the outer moat when Fukuoka Castle was being constructed. The four islands on the wide lake at Ohori Park, as well as the small bridges connecting them, can be panoramically viewed from the beautiful red-painted gazebo by the lake. Enjoy the view of the beautiful blooming flowers and the greenery of pine trees as you take an excursion around the lake perimeter. Children's lively voices can also be heard at the park during the day. Waterfowls flock together and float calmly on the waters. Huge crowds are drawn and entranced with the spectacular night sky during the Ohori fireworks display. A traditional Japanese garden and the Fukuoka Art Museum are also located nearby.
