The hamayuu (spider lily) found here at the Natsuigahama Hamayuu Park, which is located at the northernmost tip of Fukuoka Prefecture, are designated protected natural species. Spider lilies are also considered the “town flower” of Ashiya, where the park is located. Growing among the white sand of Natsuigahama Beach, spider lilies regularly bloom from July to August. These white flowers give off a fragrant smell when the sun goes down.
