Mount Atago is a legendary and highly popular spot for couples, known as a “holy ground” for romantic encounters and is also the prefecture’s sole place to be designated as one of Japan’s “night view inheritance.” It stands at 251 meters. A 3-storey observatory can be found at the mountain summit, and various objects such as a bell, a place to put a lock, and a “path of lights” have been set up for couples and lovers. The night view of the city below and the Hyuga Sea can be seen from here. On a clear day, one would be able to see up to the island of Shikoku. This is definitely a recommended spot for couples!
