Fukuoka has a harmonious balance of both the old and new. Looking at it from a historical perspective, Fukuoka is made up of 2 capitals, the harbor town and the town surrounding the former castle, which have been unified. Fukuoka is also where the oldest Zen temple is located. Aside from that, it is famous for being a place where people enjoy food and gourmet, and also for being a pioneer in reusing treated wastewater for water conservation. Hospitality which will be felt from the bottom of your heart and the liveliness of the city is one of the reasons why Fukuoka has been chosen as a wonderful city to visit.
